I was going to make an emo in-depth post about my visit to ND but instead I will post pictures. A LOT of pictures.

Let me preface this though:
Most of my time at ND I was miserable because I did not fit in. At all. But every struggle I faced made me a better person. I had friends there but I never felt comfortable. I also drank a lot at first because I was not happy and started to develop a problem... which is one of the many reasons I decided to become edge while attending. Going there changed my life for the better though the years sometimes seemed like the worst. Ok, now for the peeksures.

God Quad
It is called God Quad due to the Basilica, The Dome, and lots of scattered religious paraphernalia being present.
The Dome. Yes. There is real gold in the paint.

Jesus is stretching his arms to Mary whom is stretching her arms back. FYI.

This is the view from the top of the steps of the administration (dome) building. Any person who is student or future student that enters the building through these steps is supposedly cursed to not graduate. I am glad I waited until today to mount them. *cue Rocky theme song*

North Quad
For anyone who does not believe the story behind my s/n here is picture proof that there is in fact a Cavanaugh Hall. I lived there for 1.5 years. Prime location - near North, near Lafun, near the Dome, near the library. I also got semi-kicked out for not being a "team player." I had got a room off campus anyway. Fuck you, Sister Pat.

This is the Lafortune Student Center aka Lafun. Home of Sbarros, Subway, The BK Lounge, The Huddle, Sbux, and 25cent hot dogs at midnight. I spent many nights there "studying" with Carolina, stalking Brian Garcia, and being obnoxious in camo pants while wearing red sneakers.

North Quad also consisted of North Dining Hall which was far superior to South Dining Hall though South kinda looked like the Great Hall at Hogwarts. North was also home to Hagger Hall aka the Psychology Department where I spent much of my time. Epic snowball fights between North and South would happen here, as would yearly viewings of Rudy.

South Quad
Sucks so there are no pictures. Muahahaha. Fuck that wind tunnel.

Hot Spots
This is my bench. I know it may not look like much but it was mine. I sat there (when weather permitted) and would read between classes. I would sit and watch people pass. I would sit and think. Always this bench. It was near Debart and O'Shag (the Arts & Letters building which the move Rudy shows as Holy Cross... it isn't) and was therefore convenient.

Debartolo Lounge. This was the vending machine area in Debart which was the general building. Gen eds took place there a lot. It was never not cold in that building. I liked to watch the snow fall from these windows while drinking coffee. Sidenote - the money to build this building came from dirty Irish Mafia money that also built The UP Mall in South Bend. Oh, Catholics.

These steps lead to the Grotto. I used to go there once a week at night. I wouldn't even pray as much as watch other people pray. I never understood the fascination. But I appreciated the beauty and the hope. These steps always got me though.

Most people ran around the lakes. I walked. Swans used to congregate here. I hope they still do and that I just missed them.

Sometimes classes met here instead of inside on pretty days. Backed.

This is the stadium. It is huge. It is amazing. I love football. Before it was expanded you could see Touch Down Jesus from inside it.

Touch Down Jesus is a mural on the side of the Hesburgh Library. His arms look like he is saying "It's Good!" hence the name. And there is a reflection pool which allows him to be at two places at once. Magickz!

Behind the administration building there is a house in which retired priests reside. This is a walkway I would sit and be a sensitive artist at.

This fountain is a peace monument commemorating some 500 Notre Dame alumni who died in World War II, the Korean conflict, and Vietnam... but during Frosh-O (orientation) we were made to jump into it. I refused because I found it disrespectful, and decided to no longer partake in Frosh-O. Whatta rebel.

After ND, Bookie and I went to the zoo.
This occurred while visiting the Red Panda.
Dad - Look, it's just like mommy.
Kid - Yeah, lazy.
LOLz.

We saw a White Bengal Tiger! He was dead serious about being dead serious.

Then we bought me a bike and had to McGyvor a way to fit it in his car.

Mine is lime green.

Then we went to Hacienda. And I took a picture of Christian while he was telling me some obviously awesome story.

Then I was eaten alive by mosquitos at a BBQ. :o(

Then I came home.

And I am now drinking a Coke and updating journals.
Whatta lame-o.

Big big plans.

Everything is amazing right now.

I don't know why it is... but it takes something ridiculous/shitty happening to make me realize how lucky I am. And how great my life is.

I submitted my graduation forms today; come may I will be done with school after 20 years. That is a whole lot of education.
